Week 12 of 24 - The halfway mark - Inspiration at its best!

Image
I'd like to introduce AMAZING Natalie!  She is the inspiration for this blog and the opportunity we all have to do something great for ourselves. The process hasn't been easy but she is pushing through and seeing results!  The changes she is making in her habits are making obvious changes both inside and out with her.  These pictures are such a great reflection of the possible through commitment and determination. I am so impressed and proud of, not only Natalie, but all of you who are so faithfully plugging along day after day, week after week. Completing workouts that you might not feel like doing, running when you don't even like it, thinking of the food that goes in your mouth, and most of all thinking of the others who are in this with you. Each one of you have played a role in the success seen.  You are there for others without even knowing who they are, and that is making a huge difference!  The desire to quit is lessened when the thought that someone el

Week 11 of 24 - Keep your head in the game!

Allow this training to change your mind about your cans and cannots, your wills and won't, and what you do and don't like.    As the mileage increases it might become difficult to remain motivated.  Your effort is going to have to increase as well as your determination to complete that which you might not want to.  Draw strength from knowing there are others going through the same thing and that your efforts will be rewarded in the end!  Your head can become your worst enemy or your best friend, I have had it be both!  Many conversations with myself have been had while running, making deals, mini goals, etc.  It's truly amazing how the thoughts in our head can cause whatever we are doing be good or bad.  Our bodies are capable of far more than we think and all too often it is our mind that prevents us from realizing it.  This picture was taken one morning during a 10 mile run that my head was having a hard time getting into.  As the sun rose and this stunni

Celebrate the unexpected! When a member of Team Marvin turns 6 they recieve a trip to the Great Wolf Lodge with Naunee and Papa.  Noah, Kamble, and Eden went on this fun adventure a few months ago and what a great trip we had! I went with the cheapest room thinking the time would be spent in the water so it wouldn't matter what kind of room we were in. As we checked in I was asked if it would be a problem to be upgraded, to which I replied, "absolutely not!"  We were then informed that they were putting us in the cabin room, and that seemed pretty cool to all of us. Enthusiasm was oozing as we walked the hall to our room.  As the door was opened the squeals of excitement couldn't help but bring smiles to anyone close enough to hear.  Noah, Kamble and Eden could hardly believe what they were seeing and said they wanted to stay in the room for a long time!  Noah said, "This is the best place ever!" as they all choose the bed that would be th

Atticus Jonathan Lamb 8lbs 8 oz 20" June 3, 2017 Team Marvin #9 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 I am so very proud to introduce the newest member to Team Marvin, Atticus Jonathan Lamb!  His role on the team is essential.  He will, under the guidance of his "coaches", be training for greatness over the next 18 years.  This training will be a step by step, year by year process with expectations he will have a huge impact on the world in which he now lives.   As with all training programs, while working towards perfection there will be times of failure.  These times of falling short do not mean he is never going to acheive all that God has planned, it simply means he will need the skills to get back up and keep going.  The ability to stand tall and dig deep in the face of adversity will be as, if not more, important than knowi
